Contact
TypingKeypad is a small free tool run by one person, so there is no support desk and no ticketing system. Email reaches a real person, and it is the right channel for everything listed below.
Both Chinese and English are fine. If you are reporting a technical problem, including your browser and operating system saves one round trip.
Response time
We aim to reply within three working days. Bug reports that affect everyone are handled first; feature suggestions may take longer or may not happen at all, and we will say so rather than leave you waiting.
If you have not had a reply after a week, please send again — mail does occasionally get lost, and a resend is not a nuisance.
What to write to us about
- Something is broken. A panel does not render, a lesson cannot be completed, the keyboard looks wrong on your device.
- A Wubi code looks wrong. Tell us the character, the version (86, 98 or New Century), and what you expected. The code tables come from open-source projects, so corrections are genuinely useful.
- You want a lesson. Suggestions for new drills, text sets or — particularly welcome — additional Wubi and pinyin material.
- Something in the guide is wrong. Typing technique articles get things wrong surprisingly often; corrections with a source are very welcome.
- Privacy or data questions. Anything about what is stored on your device, or about advertising.
- Advertising, partnership or removal requests. Include the relevant URLs so we can act without follow-up.
What we usually cannot help with
- Recovering practice records. They exist only in the browser you used. We hold no copy and cannot restore them — this is described in the privacy policy.
- Installing or configuring an input method. Chinese input depends on your operating system's IME, which is outside this site.
- Homework, transcription or typing work. This is a practice tool, not a service.
- Account questions. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to reset.
Three things worth checking first
These resolve the majority of messages we receive, and checking them will usually get you an answer faster than emailing:
- Nothing appears when you type? Your input method is probably in the wrong mode. The Chinese lessons need a Chinese IME; the pinyin and Wubi lessons need English mode, because you are typing a code rather than a character. The troubleshooting article in the typing guide walks through this in full.
- Scores disappeared? Clearing site data, switching browsers, or using private browsing removes them. The records were never on a server.
- A page looks broken or unstyled? A hard refresh usually fixes a stale cached stylesheet.
About your message
We keep your email only to answer it and to remember what was reported. It is not added to any mailing list and is not shared. See the privacy policy for the detail.
