Privacy Policy
TypingKeypad is a free typing practice tool that runs entirely in your browser. There is no account to create and no profile stored on our side. This page sets out, in order, exactly what happens to your information — including the parts that stay on your device and the parts that may be handled by third-party advertising.
1. Information we collect from you directly
None. The site does not ask for a name, email address, phone number or any other identifier in order to practise. There is no registration form, no newsletter signup and no analytics-driven account system.
2. Information stored in your browser
Your practice history and preferences are written to your browser's local storage (the localStorage API) on the device you are using. This data never leaves that device, is never sent to a server, and is readable only by this site within that browser.
The specific keys used are:
typing_history— past session results: speed, accuracy, duration and timestamp.typing_key_errors— a per-key count of mistakes, used to build the error heat map.typing_days— the dates on which you practised, for the daily streak.typing_lessons_passed— which lessons you have completed.typing_lang— your interface language choice.typing_wubi_scheme— which Wubi version you selected (86, 98 or New Century).typing_custom_text— the draft of any custom text you pasted in.
You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's site-data settings, or by using the reset control in the progress panel. Because the data lives only in your browser, clearing it is immediate and complete — and it is also permanent, since we hold no copy to restore from.
3. Cookies
This site itself does not set any cookies. It needs none: no login state, no session, no cross-page tracking on our part.
Third parties may set cookies, as described in section 6. We do not control those cookies, and you can manage them through your browser settings or the opt-out tools linked below.
4. Server access logs
Like essentially every website, the hosting provider that serves these files records ordinary request information — IP address, requested URL, user agent, timestamp and referring page — in standard access logs. This is used for availability, abuse prevention and basic traffic measurement. We do not combine these logs with any practice data, because we hold no practice data.
5. Information you give us when you contact us
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to write, including your email address. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the issue you raised. We do not add you to any list and we do not share it with anyone.
6. Third-party advertising and advertising cookies
This site is free to use and may display advertising to cover its running costs.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads on this site. Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
Third-party ad servers and ad networks may also use cookies, JavaScript or web beacons to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalise the advertising content you see. This site has no access to, and no control over, those technologies once they are used by a third party.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will additionally be presented with a consent mechanism for advertising cookies before they are set.
7. Children's privacy
The site is a general-audience educational tool and is suitable for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because we collect no personal information at all. Practice records stay on the child's own device.
If you are a parent or guardian and you would like practice records removed from a device you control, clear the site data in that browser — this requires no request to us.
8. Data security
Because no practice data is transmitted or stored server-side, the usual risks of a central database breach do not apply here. The practical security boundary is your own device: if you share a computer, other users of that browser profile can see the locally stored records. Use a private window on shared machines if that matters to you.
9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Under the GDPR, the CCPA and similar regimes, you have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. In practice, we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or delete.
Everything that could be described as yours — your practice history, preferences and drafts — is on your own device and under your own control. Exercising your rights here is done by clearing your browser's site data, which you can do without asking us.
If you believe we hold something about you despite this, email us and we will confirm and address it.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means the current version applies.
